Top Gear Journalist Shafiq Abidim reports on Toyota Research Institute and Stanford Engineering achieving the world's first autonomous tandem drift.

Abidim quotes TRI's Avinash Balachandran, vice president of the Human Interactive Driving division, who said by utilizing the latest AI tools, we can autonomously drift two cars in tandem. 

"This is the most complex maneuver in motorsports, and reaching this milestone with autonomy means we can control cars dynamically at the extremes," Balachandran said. "This has far-reaching implications for building advanced safety systems into future automobiles."
