Dr. Yan-Ying Chen is a senior research scientist on the Future Product Innovation team within the Human-Centered AI (HCAI) division at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). Dr. Chen's research interests lie at the intersection of applied machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision. She currently works on personalization for machine-assisted decision-making systems. 

Before joining TRI, Dr. Chen worked on image/video to text generation and location/customer profiling at FX Palo Alto Laboratory. She also worked on visual/text sentiment analysis during her visiting research at Columbia University.

Dr. Chen received her Ph.D. in computer science from National Taiwan University.
