Brendan Hathaway is the senior manager for the Prototyping and Research Operations (PROps) team at Toyota Research Institute (TRI) and previously served as engineering manager and senior mechanical engineer for the team. 

Brendan received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Boston University and started his career in engineering as an intern at MIT Sea Grant, working on an algae biofuel project. Before joining TRI, Brendan had varied work experiences as a ranch hand and motorcycle mechanic and founded a consultancy focused on physical problem-solving for businesses across the country.
