Dr. Lizzy Mahoney is a senior research scientist in the Energy & Materials division at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). With a background in catalysis and process R&D, she specializes in techno-economic analysis (TEA) for early-stage technology development. Her goal is to connect fundamental research with practical, economically viable technology solutions, aligning scientific advancements with broader sustainability goals. She works in the Carbon Neutral Strategy team and also enjoys engaging with current and prospective Toyota Ventures portfolio companies. 

Dr. Mahoney earned her B.S. from the University of Kansas and her Ph.D. from the University of Delaware in chemical engineering. Before joining TRI, she worked at ExxonMobil Chemical and as an independent consultant.
