Dr. Santosh Suram is a staff research scientist in the Energy & Materials division at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). He specializes in developing tools for accelerated materials discovery that integrate computational simulation, automated experiments, and artificial intelligence. His research interests include energy storage/conversion, AI for science, and autonomous laboratories.

Prior to joining TRI, Dr. Suram earned his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering at Iowa State University and was a research scientist with the high-throughput experimentation group at California Institute of Technology, where he developed tools that resulted in accelerated experimental discovery of (photo-)electrocatalysts and automation of materials synthesis and characterization.
