A video presented by researchers from the University of Texas at Austin and Toyota Research Institute at ICRA 2023 showing experiments with the Toyota Supra was featured in IEEE Spectrum's Video Friday. By using new techniques to create models on tire forces, researchers achieved 4x improvement in tracking performance, smoother control inputs, and faster and more consistent computation time in autonomous drifting with less than 3 minutes of driving data.
